Mrs. Katrina Schoenrock

This epic 2022-2023 school year will mark my 8th year as a Library Media Specialist! I began my educational career as a 2nd and 3rd grade classroom teacher, which I absolutely adored. My passion for integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) has allowed me to grow in my professional career and has led me to Meadows Elementary School. During my educational journey, I have earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education (concentration in Urban Education), a Master’s of Science in Education (Reading), and a Master’s in Library and Information Science. Let’s just say I am a lifelong learner myself, and I hold education, the power of knowledge, and children’s literature close to my heart.

The Meadow’s library space is designed to be community centered, while accommodating the need for a variety of learning spaces. The library program is designed to meet the needs of the entire Meadow’s Elementary School community, including students, staff, families, and key stakeholders. The scholar’s programming is STEAM focused and will expose them to a variety of skills, knowledge, and experiences, which will provide them with full, innovative, rigorous, comprehensive learning. Literature will be available in both print and electronic formats, consisting of various genres, perspectives, and concepts.

My goal is to prepare our 21st century learners to be college, community, and career ready! I am extremely excited to be a part of the Meadow’s community and each scholar’s learning experience!
