2021-2022 School Year Information

Welcome to Killeen ISD! We support more than 45,500 Central Texas students, pre-kindergarten through grade 12.  Our award-winning, top-rated fine arts and athletics programs, and schools proudly serve the Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Killeen, and Nolanville communities.

Killeen ISD is actively planning for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.  In-person learning will be available to all KISD students.  Virtual learning may be available to 3rd-12th grade students that meet eligibility requirements.   Virtual learning is contingent upon the availability of state funding and approval from TEA. Learn more about KISD's 2021-2022 Learning Options below.‚Äč

Registration: Important Dates & Links

Registration for current KISD students for the 2021-2022 school year begins on April 5, 2021. 

Deadline: May 14, 2021

Registration for new to KISD students for the 2021-2022 school year opens April 26, 2021.

Virtual Learning: Optional Learning Modality

Are you considering virtual learning for your child? 
Please watch our video below to learn more about eligibility requirements. 


  • Virtual Learning will not be provided for Prek - 2nd grade students.
  • Synchronous Instruction will be provided to 3rd - 12th grade students during school hours, students will follow their schedule. 
    • In-person attendance is required for certain CTE, Fine Arts, and Athletics courses. 
      • Transportation to required in-person courses/activities is not provided by the district.
