The Killeen Independent School District Fine Arts Department aims to produce well-rounded, dynamic students who can express themselves creatively and will seek life-long enjoyment and fulfilment through the arts.

The department offers a comprehensive fine arts program that includes award-winning band, choir, orchestra, theater arts, visual arts and dance programs throughout our secondary campuses. Our students consistently earn distinction at both regional and state level competitions each year.

In addition to numerous U.I.L and arts organization competitions, our fine arts students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events including the annual Spirit Spectacular, Middle School Band Extravaganza, Spring Fling, Choir camp, the Dance Showcase, the Take 190 West Art Show, parades, and numerous concerts throughout the school year.

Elementary-age students experience high-quality music instruction taught by certified music specialists, while engaging in a variety of arts experiences throughout the school year and in the summer.

These include a performance by the Fort Worth Symphony for all fifth-graders, an annual choral festival, theatrical productions by Vive les Arts Theater and the opportunity to participate in the annual summer musical.

In KISD, we take pride in placing our students center-stage. So strike up the band, take up the brush or cue the spotlight, your future beckons!
