Celebrating selfless volunteers who continuously build community at schools and beyond, the Killeen Independent School District honored its top volunteers Tuesday.
Hundreds of young voices filled the arena with songs of patriotism and a musical heritage of spirituals, jazz and other traditions during a choral music performance of 10 elementary school choirs.
From dairy farming to engineering, meteorology, plumbing and law enforcement, the career day at Meadows Elementary School was so fun some students barely noticed the learning.
Stepping out of school into the broader community, a group of middle school leaders discovered satisfying reward in service to others.
