KISD COVID-19 Dashboard buttonTo ensure timely communication with Killeen ISD students, parents and staff members, the school district is launching a COVID-19 Dashboard to track and update COVID-19 cases within the school district.

The dashboard tool will track COVID-19 positive cases for employees and students and will provide daily updates by campus.

The system will track ongoing cases and provide weekly seven-day totals.

Killeen ISD has been tracking employee COVID-19 data since the end of spring break (March 16) and student data since August 17, the all-virtual start to the new school year.

The KISD COVID-19 Dashboard will serve as a tool to keep the public informed and also aid district leaders in making decisions to best safeguard the health of students and staff members.

Parents will receive a link to the COVID-19 Dashboard, a COVID-19 student flowchart, COVID-19 campus contacts for their children’s schools and KISD’s Return to Campus Criteria.

The identity of COVID-19 positive individuals will remain confidential in compliance with state and federal health and privacy laws.

Each COVID-19 positive case triggers several notifications including a deep cleaning and communication to the entire campus population and the Bell County Health Department. Parents will receive the notification via phone, email and text message.

At each KISD campus, teams of administrators and the school nurse are trained to answer questions about students returning for face-to-face instruction. Parents are encouraged to contact these campus-based COVID-19 points of contact for more information.

The district continues to adhere to and adapt to guidance from the Texas Education Agency, the Bell County Health Department and the CDC.

Students and staff members must pre-screen and avoid coming to school if they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher. They must not return to school until they have been fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours.

Students and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19, must not return to school until they meet the district’s Return to Campus Criteria.

Killeen ISD’s COVID-19 protocols are contained in the Public Health Guide accessible on our website, www.killeenisd.org/phg
