KISD Communications' Commitment To Clear Messaging

KISD Communications' Commitment To Clear Messaging
As we complete the fifth week of school during an enormously busy and challenging time in our community, Killeen ISD Communications is working as diligently as ever to help keep families informed.
It is our great privilege to meet KISD students and employees in learning and work environments and share with you their great achievements. It is also our purpose to provide factual, clear, concise, consistent information to the public. Often, the information we provide deals with the immediate health and safety of all of us.
We have longtime connections to local media outlets we consider our partners. We would like to let you know that as issues related to education become more complex and the media climate grows more fluid, KISD is taking added steps to get you the right information in the right context.
One of those partners, the Killeen Daily Herald has lately used our information and images outside the original context. We want you to know that when you as a parent give us permission to use your child’s photo in media, that it will be used in the proper, expected context. Therefore, we have made the decision to stop providing the Herald with major feature stories and photos.

KISD Communications will continue to work with all our media partners as they make inquiries and release information through media as it is pertinent to the community. We remain committed to highlighting the district by producing video, still images, stories, news and distributing it through KISD’s website, social media outlets, KISD-TV, monthly district newsletters, and MY 95.1 Radio. Stay connected as we celebrate our student stars and keep you informed of the changing world of education.
