Police

The Killeen ISD Police Department is committed to protecting our future by providing a safe and positive educational environment for students, staff, and other shareholders in order for students to learn at their maximum potential.

In 1989, the Killeen Independent School District established the district's police departments to provide law enforcement services to the district's two high schools.  The department has since grown from 2 officers to 21 officers including the Chief of Police.  Officers are licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and have police powers on district property and within the district's boundaries.  These officers provide police services for all KISD schools and departments located in Killeen, Harker Heights, and Nolanville.  The District schools on Fort Hood are supported by the Ft. Hood Military Police.

During the school day officers are assigned to various campuses or patrol to provide a safe and secure environment for all students, staff and visitors.  In addition, officers provide law enforcement services throughout the district at various extracurricular events and programs.
