2017 Teacher of the Year

Kayla Holeman
Meadows Elementary
2nd Grade
4 Years of Experience

My favorite thing about teaching is seeing each of my students learn and grow as the year progresses.  The excitement in their eyes when they learn a new skill or concept for the first time is remarkable.  Having the opportunity to be a part of a constant process of learning, not only my students learning from me, but also me learning from them, is truly extraordinary.

Dear Parents,

We are excited that many of you would like to visit your child’s classroom during the school year! With our very active PTO and volunteer program, we always look forward to our parents visiting Meadows.

In order to provide the safest environment for our school, we ask that you complete a volunteer background check at least two weeks prior to volunteering, visiting, or observing in your child's classroom.

If you plan to attend a class party, activity, celebration, field trip, or eat lunch in your child's classroom, you must be an approved Meadows volunteer.

To become an approved Meadows volunteer, you just have to:

1.   Complete the online Volunteer Application form (link is below) AND

2.  Attend a volunteer orientation session.

The application approval process should take no more than one week, and the short orientation is held every Monday afternoon at 3:15 PM in the Meadows Library. For additional information, please contact Mrs. Colleen Tedford, Librarian and Volunteer Coordinator at 254-336-1870.

You may complete your volunteer background check at the following website:

We appreciate your help and understanding, as our first priority is to keep our school safe and secure at all times.  We would also like to remind you that all visitors must enter the front door of the school, present a current ID and receive a visitors badge prior to being allowed in our school.
