2016 TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Ms. Ina Rivera
16 Years of Experience
My favorite thing about teaching is the first day of school. I feel just as much anticipation and excitement as the students. I look forward to building relationships and nurturing those relationships throughout the year. On the first day, we talk about the expectations and make the rules together. It sets the tone for the class.
WELCOME TO MAXDALE!
As the principal of Maxdale Elementary School I want to personally welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year. The staff here at Maxdale looks forward to a year filled with memorable, quality learning experiences for our students. At Maxdale we value each of our learners, and we recognize that each one of them is unique, capable, and valuable. It is our aim to work each day as a professional learning community to help bring out the very best in every student both academically and socially. We also recognize the vital role of our parents, families, and community members in realizing our vision of empowering students to become life-long learners and responsible contributors to our society. We encourage and welcome you to partner with us by volunteering in the school, supporting school-sponsored events, communicating with your child's teachers, and talking with your child about his/her studies. Thank you for being a part of our Maxdale community and for entrusting us with your child's education. Here's to a WONDERFUL school year!
Million Minutes of Reading
Congrats to Tasha Rogers who was awarded a grant from the KISD Education Foundation to fund our campus "Million Minutes of Reading" initiative!
Our goal is to collect a million minutes of reading as a campus. In order to meet our goal, we will use the minutes from reading in school and out of school. Please encourage your child to read every night to help us reach our goal!
