Senior Picture Example04/29/2020 - Killeen ISD is diligently working to find various ways to celebrate the Senior Class of 2020. Our virtual graduation will allow all Seniors to be honored for their accomplishments.
We have resolved technical issues associated with our cap and gown picture upload for virtual graduation. Students will receive an email by tomorrow morning with instructions to upload a photo, spell their name phonetically, and submit a short message for their personalized slide. Please encourage your student to email their waist up photo to your school's corresponding email address:

We have worked extremely hard to extend the photo submission deadline to Sunday, May 10. In addition, the district is setting up Graduate Photo Opportunities at the Career Center for Seniors who would like a formal photo in their cap and gown next week. These photos will be free to all Seniors and used for our virtual graduation. Your graduate’s photo will be emailed to them for you to print as desired. The photo schedule will be posted online and sent to students by Friday afternoon.
Diplomas and programs will be mailed to graduates in June. Should COVID-19 restrictions be relaxed, and the opportunity present itself in the future, the district has reserved the Bell County Expo Center in July.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

How will my senior be recognized in the virtual graduation?

Killeen ISD is partnering with MarchingOrder and Stage Clip to use the latest technology to honor the Senior Class of 2020 during our COVID-19 closure. Graduates will share this big moment with traditional speeches and content, which can be posted to social media instantly. The district will require students to submit a photo in their cap & gown for a personalized slate. Students will record their name to ensure every name is pronounced properly by a professional and every graduate will receive personalized recognition. Students will also have the option to submit a personalized message on their slate.

Why doesn’t the district postpone graduation instead of hosting a virtual graduation?

The district has explored this idea extensively. Killeen ISD remains committed to honoring our Seniors in a manner that does not minimize their achievement and at this time our virtual graduation plan accommodates all Seniors. If the opportunity allows, the district will analyze the feasibility for an in-person ceremony in July. The safety of students and families is our priority.

What happens on the day of the ceremony?

Students and their loved ones will go to a website that will allow them to experience a communal moment while they all watch the ceremony all at once. They will be able to view their personal slides and clips, and hear their names announced either as part of the video presentation, or individually by searching the slides.

What is the expectation for a virtual graduation photo?

Each student will upload a picture in their school appropriate, authorized cap and gown, with no alterations against a plain or non-distracting background by Friday, May 1, 2020.  Pictures must be from the waist up, facing forward with no face covering (except non-tinted prescription glasses), with no hands in the photo.

What if I do not submit a photo?

The virtual graduation will include all students and the submission forms are mobile-friendly. For those who do not submit content, their name will still be read and a slide will be prepared with their name.

I never got a registration email about virtual graduation, who do I contact?
