Killeen ISD Announces New Executive Director for Transportation Services

The Killeen Independent School District is welcoming a veteran of the United States Air Force with 15 years of school transportation management experience as its next executive director for transportation services.

Myron Wilson, who most recently served as the executive director of transportation for Fort Worth ISD, started with KISD on June 23.

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Wilson to our KISD team. With extensive experience in managing transportation systems for large school districts, he brings a deep understanding of the complexities involved in ensuring efficient student travel and staff management,” Scott Hequembourg, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations, said. “His proven track record in addressing challenges and implementing effective solutions will be invaluable as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students.”

Prior to two school years with Fort Worth ISD, which includes 144 campuses and more than 70,000 students, Wilson was the director of transportation for Leander ISD from 2019-2023.

He also was the transportation terminal manager for Cherry Creek Schools in Aurora, CO., (2012-2017) and the director of transportation for Thompson School District in Loveland, CO., (2017-2019).

Wilson, who served 10 years in the Air Force, earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Devry Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business administration from Regis University.
