Closed Campus - District Policy

Once a student arrives at school, he/she is not permitted to leave campus at any time during the school day without administrative permission.

All KISD schools are closed campuses for lunch. Beginning in August 2022, all KISD high schools will be closed campuses for lunch, with the exception of seniors that have met the College, Career, and Military Readiness criteria and have their parent's permission to leave campus. The KISD Board of Trustees approved closing high school campuses for lunch due to growing safety concerns and the added capacity with the opening of Chaparral High School. All freshman, sophomore, and juniors will remain on campus during lunch. Eating areas are being expanded throughout high schools to accommodate closed campus lunches. 

Designated Eating Areas include a cafeteria, the court yard adjacent to the cafeteria, front court yard, and the basketball court.
