Killeen ISD Boasts 38 Purple Star Schools

Killeen ISD is proud to announce that 29 additional schools were recognized recently as Purple Star Designated Campuses by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) highlighting strong school support for military-connected students and families.
The 29 new Purple Star campuses moved the total number of Purple Star campuses to 38. The designation is a two-year distinction.
“Earning these designations is near and dear to our hearts in Killeen ISD,” Angenet Wilkerson, director of district and community relations, said. “These students and their families sacrifice so much for our country, and it’s our honor to come alongside them and help make their K-12 educational journey the best it can be.”
The Purple Star Campus Designation, a special honor created by the 86th Texas Legislature through SB 1557, recognizes Texas school districts and open-enrollment charter school campuses that show their support and commitment to meeting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families.
