Killeen ISD is recognizing a longtime press-bindery technician and a dedicated campus facilitator as STEEL Award winners for the month of February.
Tino Figueroa from the KISD Print Shop and Stephanie Ellis from Haynes Elementary School have dedicated years of service to the students and community at KISD - and their passion for service has not gone unnoticed!
“Tino is an unsung hero that selflessly serves the district without asking for anything in return,” KISD’s Director of Purchasing Services, George Ybarra shared. With over 25 years of exceptional service, Tino has proven to be an expert in the daily happenings of the print shop.
“He is devoted to Killeen ISD and will do what he can to help someone in need. Tino exemplifies the motto, ‘No obstacle is too difficult.’”
Just as surprised as Tino, Haynes Elementary’s Campus Facilitator, Stephanie Ellis was similarly appreciated.
“Mrs. Ellis is an invaluable resource for our campus. She has a wealth of knowledge that she willingly shares with staff and leadership,” Campus Instructional Specialist, Jennifer Kennison shared.
“If there’s a call, she’s there. We would not be able to do all that we do for our special education students if it wasn’t for her. Stephanie truly is a gift to Haynes Elementary.”
During award presentations, Superintendent John Craft explained that the award, made of steel, is a strong, resilient substance that matches the district employee recipients.
