Eighteen Killeen ISD Special Olympic Athletes competed in the Special Olympics Texas State Games this past weekend, May 12-15, in San Antonio at Morgan’s Wonderland.
Representatives from Harker Heights, Shoemaker, Ellison, and Killeen competed against other Special Olympic programs from across the state. Athletes were able to meet and greet athletes of all ages with competition and fun.
Athletes competed in the 200-meter run, 100-meter run, 4x100 relay, shot put, running, and standing long jump.
Killeen ISD Dream Team walked away from the state games with over 18 medals, including the boys 4x100 meter relay team, running away with the state championship.
