Killeen ISD varsity and junior varsity track and field teams are scheduled to compete this week in the District 12-6A (Harker Heights, Killeen and Shoemaker) and District 16-5A (Chaparral and Ellison) meets Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3.
The 12-6A meet is at Copperas Cove’s Bulldawg Stadium and the 16-5A meet is at Belton’s Tiger Field.
Day 1, which includes field event finals and running preliminaries, will begin at 10 a.m. at both locations. Day 2, which will feature the running event finals, starts at 5 p.m. at each location.
The top four finishers in each event move on to area.

KISD Middle School Track and Field District Meet
After a full day of exciting competition Saturday during the Killeen ISD middle school district track and field meet, four teams emerged as champions.
The Patterson girls surged ahead of the pack to win the seventh-and eighth-grade team titles, while the Liberty Hill seventh-graders and JDA eighth-graders rose to the top and claimed the golds on the boys side.
There were so many great performances by athletes from each school, and they all were cheered on by a supportive crowd inside Leo Buckley Stadium.

KISD Executive Director of Athletics Matt Carroll said he extends his gratitude to the coaches, administrators, stadium personnel and more for all the help.
Ninth-grade district track results
Chaparral hosted the District 16-5A ninth-grade track and field meet and Harker Heights hosted the District 12-6A ninth-grade meet Wednesday, March 26.
The freshmen from CHS, EHS, HHHS, KHS and SHS competed well to close out their seasons, including the Grey Wolves and Lady Knights claiming the 12-6A team titles.
