With great honor and pleasure, Haynes Elementary School, would like to congratulate Nelisha Dukes, as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year recipient.
Nelisha Dukes has been in education for over ten years, and this will be her seventh year as a classroom teacher. She has taught grades second through fourth and was a Reading Interventionist for grades sixth through eighth. Mrs. Dukes holds a teaching certification in Generalist in Early Childhood-6th, English Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies in grades 4th -8th, English Second Language Supplemental in grades Early Childhood-12th, and Special Education in grades Early Childhood-12th.
Mrs. Dukes teaches fourth-grade English Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies at Haynes Elementary School in Killeen, Texas.
Mrs. Dukes received her Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from Liberty University, and she is currently working on her graduate degree in the content area of Curriculum Instruction.
Mrs. Dukes believes that developing the learners' character while teaching content is essential to educating children. One's character is the foundation of their success, and she strives to develop strong character in all her students. She is passionate about and called to cultivate lifelong learners who value and enjoy the growth process in all areas and stages of their lives.
