We also encourage you to become involved in the social aspects of high school and participate in athletics, clubs and dances and make the most of your high school years.
One of our greatest strengths is the pride and support from our community, and our parents are critical contributors to the success of our students. We welcome your involvement as we work to provide the best possible education to our students and encourage you to contact us with your ideas, suggestions, and concerns.
Here is a little information about me.
I was born in Wichita Falls, Texas was an Army brat and attended schools in Tennessee, Germany, Alabama and Texas. I graduated from C.E. Ellison High School in Killeen in 1985 and Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) degree in 1989. Upon graduation I joined The Kroger Food Company as an Executive and worked in Houston, Huntsville and College Station.
My career in education began in 1993 when I joined the faculty of C.E. Ellison High School as a Marketing Education teacher and received my Vocational Marketing Certification from Southwest Texas State University in 1995. After eight years as a classroom teacher and earning my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University in 2001 I was named the Director for Student Activities at EHS. After two years I was chosen as Curriculum Director for Ellison High and in 2006 was named principal of Clifton Park Elementary School in Killeen.
As principal for Clifton Park Elementary we achieved the Texas Education Agency’s EXEMPLARY rating while serving a population with 67% of at-risk students and 50% Hispanic/bilingual students. Clifton Park Elementary has continued to consecutively achieve this recognition. After three proud years as principal I was hired as the Director of Secondary Curriculum and Professional Development and for four years served the teachers and administrators of the Killeen Independent School District.
In June 2013 I was named principal of Killeen High School and am honored and humbled to serve the students, parents and faculty of Killeen High School.
I’m the wife of Dr. Bradley Buckley, a local veterinarian, and graduate of Ellison High School and Texas A&M University. We have three children, Emily (21), a senior at Texas A&M University, Erin (18), a freshman at Texas A&M University, and Bo (14), a freshman at Killeen High School.
My family I feel blessed and proud to be part of the Killeen community.
