Over the past several days, many of our neighbors in Central Texas — including families in Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort — have been devastated by historic flooding. Lives have been lost, homes destroyed, and entire communities displaced.
While these communities may not be part of Killeen ISD, they are still part of who we are — Texans who step up when others are hurting.
In moments like this, many of us want to help but aren’t sure how. Right now, the most helpful ways to support these families are through donations that give them flexibility as they recover.
If your family, campus, student group, or workplace is in a position to contribute, here are two meaningful ways to help:
1. Financial Support
Donations can be made through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, a trusted local organization working directly with impacted communities to ensure help reaches those who need it most.
2. Store Gift Cards
Gift cards to stores like H-E-B, Walmart, Lowe’s, or Home Depot allow families to buy exactly what they need — whether it’s food, clothes, medicine, or cleaning supplies.
Cards can be mailed to:
Region 20 Education Service Center – Building 1
Attn: Leida Morales
1314 Hines Avenue
San Antonio, TX 78208
Please know that even a small donation or a shared message can make a real difference. And if your family is not in a position to give right now, that’s okay — your compassion and concern still matter.
Thank you for being a community that shows kindness, support, and solidarity when it’s needed most.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jo Ann Fey
