All Killeen ISD Students to Receive Free Breakfast; 38 Schools Also Offer Free Lunch

The Killeen Independent School District will continue to offer free school lunches at 38 campuses through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) during the 2025–26 school year, district officials announced.

The CEP program, part of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, allows eligible schools to provide free meals to all students without requiring families to apply for free or reduced-price meals. In addition, all KISD campuses will continue offering free breakfast to students districtwide.

All Killeen ISD Students to Receive Free Breakfast; 38 Schools Also Offer Free Lunch“We know students can’t focus on learning when they’re worried about being hungry,” said Steve Smith, KISD executive director of school nutrition. “Thanks to this program, we can make sure every child has access to nutritious meals without families needing to fill out paperwork or worry about costs. It’s a win for our students, our families, and our schools.”

District leaders said CEP simplifies the meal process, eliminates the collection of meal applications, and helps reduce burdens for both families and school administrators.

Families with students not attending a CEP campus can still apply for free or reduced-price meals online at www.schoolcafe.com/killeenisd.
