Killeen ISD is introducing Leadership Killeen ISD, a new program designed to deepen community understanding of district operations and strengthen trust between the district and local stakeholders.
The district is seeking 10 community members to join the inaugural cohort, with applications open through Aug. 1 at www.killeenisd.org/leadership-kisd.
Leadership Killeen ISD will bring together parents, business leaders, military partners and other community members for a series of interactive sessions during the 2025-26 school year. Participants will explore key areas such as academics, student services, school safety, finance, facilities and governance, gaining firsthand insight into how KISD works to provide students with the tools, resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
The program also offers participants a chance to meet the dedicated educators and staff whose work supports student achievement across the district, highlighting the people behind KISD’s progress and helping foster a culture of appreciation and unity.
Leadership Killeen ISD was created not only to promote transparency, but to build long-lasting partnerships and two-way communication between the district and the community. Graduates will become informed ambassadors who can help share accurate information, strengthen public trust and champion the district’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“This is an exciting opportunity to bring our community inside KISD and show the work happening every day to support students,” Superintendent Dr. Jo Ann Fey said. “We want participants to leave with a deeper understanding of public education and a sense of pride in the incredible things happening across Killeen ISD.”
The program reflects Killeen ISD’s commitment to innovation, leadership and building a school system that families are proud to choose.
