When questions or concerns come up, Killeen ISD wants families to have a clear, caring path to answers—and it starts with a simple first step.
“When questions or concerns arise, the first step is to talk with the person who knows your child best during the school day—their teacher,” said Iris Felder, executive director for Student Support Services. “A short conversation often brings clarity and helps us all keep the focus on your child’s success.”
If additional support is needed, KISD encourages families to follow a sequential progression from teacher to assistant principal to principal before moving to Student Support Services at the district level. This progression allows the right people to jump in quickly and help resolve issues.
KISD has put together a reference guide to help families know who to contact and when: A Parent’s Guide to Address Campus Concerns.
“Parents and guardians are essential partners with Killeen ISD in their child’s education,” Felder said. “Every conversation we have is a chance to strengthen trust with our families. When we follow these steps together, we solve concerns faster and keep the focus where it belongs—student success and well-being.”
