Killeen ISD’s swim teams hosted the Last Splash Invite on Saturday, Jan. 10, solidifying momentum into the postseason with strong performances inside the Clements Boys and Girls Club Natatorium.
The meet also included teams from Austin L.A.S.A, Austin Ann Richards, Copperas Cove, Waco Midway, Salado, Robinson, Kyle Lehman and Hutto, and featured a special ceremony to recognize a committed group of KISD senior swimmers that hit the pool for one final home meet.
Those seniors were, Harker Heights’ Colton Genovese, Cailey Melvin, Gage Morse and Gloria Yi, Killeen High’s Marcos Bedolla, Brandon Barrington, D'Ondra Ellis, Wess Martinez, Walterrey Parra and Alexis Petty, Shoemaker’s Omar Aguilar, Madelyn Dixon, Kellen McInelly, Stephen Nelson and Alessandra Urquidi Franco, and Chaparral’s Kaylee Clarke.

KISD swims teams now turn their attention to a pair of district meets.
Harker Heights, Killeen and Shoemaker will be in Temple on Thursday, Jan. 22, for the District 12-6A meet while Chaparral and Ellison will be in Belton on Friday, Jan. 23, for the District 16-5A meet. The top six individuals and relays advance to regionals.
