Representatives of colleges, the military and various businesses gave Harker Heights High School students a glimpse Wednesday into possible careers.
For the third year, the school’s counselors hosted the lunchtime “Career Fair at the Castle” as outreach for students and for local employers.
Participating students walked through the school’s small gym stopping by tables to pick up information and ask questions.
The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce, city of Killeen, Killeen ISD Human Resources, Texas Workforce Solutions, Central Texas College, military recruiters, a retail clothing outlet, grocery store, beauty supplies retailer and others made up the fair.
“Our main goal is to get community businesses in here,” said school counselor Deleen Price.
“It exposes our students to opportunities and allows them to work on their soft skills,” she said.
“There may be ideas here they haven’t thought about.”
