Killeen Independent School District congratulates Isabelle Jundi, a Business and Industry Graphic Design and Illustration student at Killeen High School and the KISD Career Center, for receiving the 2026 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Award from Congressman John Carter’s office.
Jundi was selected from a field of more than 500 student applicants, advanced as one of 33 finalists, and was ultimately named one of seven award recipients.
The competition included students from Bosque, Burnet, Coryell, Hamilton, and parts of Bell and Williamson counties. The CTE Award recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in career preparation, skill mastery, and community involvement. Career and Technical Education provides pathways for students as they transition from high school to the workforce, military service, and career-focused college programs.
In Killeen ISD, Career and Technical Education includes 13 Career Clusters and 34 approved Programs of Study. Students participate in hands-on learning experiences such as industry certifications, dual credit coursework, internships, job shadowing, and project-based learning designed to build workforce-ready skills.
“It feels really nice. It’s cool to receive recognition for the work I put into my CTE program,” Jundi said. “I’m in the graphic design program and I’ve been in courses in that program throughout high school. I’ve gained a lot of skills and experience I didn’t have before. That makes me excited about how I can use my skills in college and in the real world to go into multimedia communications.”
“Isabelle represents the very best of Career and Technical Education through her dedication, advanced skills, leadership, and strong commitment to excellence,” said Patrice Robinson, Killeen ISD Director of Career and Technical Education. “To be selected as one of seven winners out of more than 500 students is an extraordinary accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of her and the way she exemplifies the strength of our CTE programs and the bright future they help create for our students.”
