Killeen ISD’s two playoff-qualifying boys soccer teams, Harker Heights and Chaparral, netted several impressive all-district superlatives. And the awards didn’t stop there. A shiny superlative also was earned by a shot-stopping Ellison Lady Eagle.

All in all, KISD soccer players served notice in 2026 and landed a haul of all-district honors.

The Knights’ certainly Mekhi Carwise left an impression upon District 12-6A coaches, who voted the senior as the league’s Most valuable player –– one of four top honors earned by the 12-6A champions, including coach of the year Desi Torres.

Soccer players collageTorres led the Knights to a 10-1-1 district record and their 16 wins were the most since the program recorded the same amount in 2014-2015.

The Bobcats were recognized for their play at multiple positions by District 16-5A coaches with Devin Ochoa (offensive MVP), Levi Robinson (co-defensive MVP) and Yiamxel Marino Vega (utility player of the year) pocketing top prizes.

Chaparral finished fourth in 16-5A, qualifying for the playoffs a third straight season.

Harker Heights' two other superlative recipients were goalkeeper MVP Oakley Goins and co-offensive MVP Kendrick Brown.

The District 16-5A girls goalkeeper of the year award was saved for Ellison’s Lyric Sutton, who anchored the Lady Eagles back line for head coach Bryon Triggs.
