For the 34th consecutive year, Killeen Independent School is being recognized by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) with a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting.
The award was presented to KISD for its “exemplary” annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2025, and highlights the district’s longstanding commitment to transparency, accountability and high-quality financial reporting.
“Clear and accurate financial reporting is crucial for engaging school communities and
building their trust,” ASBO International Executive Director Jim Rowan said. “Districts that earn the COE have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to these principles.”
KISD’s financial report was thoroughly evaluated by a panel of financial professionals and successfully met the rigorous standards required to receive the award.
“This recognition shows that not only are we providing our students with a quality education, but we are also doing so in a financially efficient manner,” Killeen ISD Chief Financial Officer Kallen Vaden said. “I’m proud to work alongside a dedicated team in KISD that works year-round to make this recognition possible.”
