Killeen Early College High School has been recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a 2025-2026 Designated with Distinction campus, the highest level of recognition awarded to Early College high schools in Texas.
The designation recognizes campuses that demonstrate excellence in implementing the Early College High School model by meeting the Designation and Distinction criteria across all four performance categories: ECHS Access, ECHS Attainment, ECHS Achievement, and ECHS Program Status.
Students at Killeen Early College High School have the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost while completing rigorous high school coursework through the district's partnership with Central Texas College. The campus also provides comprehensive academic and student support services designed to help students succeed in college-level classes.
The campus credits its success to dedicated teachers and staff, strong family engagement, a rigorous curriculum, its partnership with Central Texas College and the continued support of Killeen ISD leadership.
"This is the highest level of recognition an Early College high school can receive," Dr. Alime Sadikova, principal at Early College High School said. "This award is a reflection of the partnership between our school and our families. Our parents, teachers and staff work together every day to encourage our students and help them achieve ambitious goals, including earning a college degree while still in high school."
As the campus looks ahead, leaders say the recognition reinforces their commitment to preparing students for college, competitive scholarships and future careers.
"We will continue strengthening the support we provide so our students are prepared for the rigor of college, competitive at the state and national levels, and ready to succeed wherever their future takes them," Dr. Sadikova said.
Killeen Early College High School partners with Central Texas College to provide students with an accelerated academic experience, allowing many graduates to earn an associate degree or significant college credit before receiving their high school diploma.
