Before the first day of school, Killeen ISD is asking families to take a few minutes to review student expectations for the 2026-27 school year.
Manor Middle School students begin classes Tuesday, Aug. 4. All other Killeen ISD students return Monday, Aug. 17. Reviewing the Student Code of Conduct before the first day can help families avoid unnecessary purchases and ensure students arrive at school ready to learn.
This school year, campuses will consistently enforce the district's dress code, with particular attention to clothing that provides appropriate coverage and is appropriate for the school environment.
Families are encouraged to review the dress code before purchasing shorts, skirts, leggings, yoga-style athletic wear and other clothing to ensure those items meet district expectations.
A few reminders before the first day of school:
Clothing must provide appropriate coverage and be appropriate for the school environment.
Clothing may not display profanity, violence, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco products or other inappropriate images or messages.
Students in grades 6-12 may not wear spandex pants or shorts. Families should review the complete dress code before purchasing leggings, yoga-style athletic wear or similar clothing to ensure it meets district expectations.
Students must wear shoes at all times.
Metal water bottles and thermoses are not permitted on Killeen ISD campuses.
