Dear Hay Branch Elementary Families,
I am writing to share an important update about campus leadership at Hay Branch Elementary.
Mrs. Dugger has made the decision to step away from her role to care for her husband as he faces health challenges. Family comes first, and we fully support her decision. We are grateful for the dedication and care she has shown to the Hay Branch community.
I am pleased to announce that Ms. Karol Carlisle will serve as the interim principal of Hay Branch Elementary for the remainder of this school year.
Ms. Carlisle is a familiar and trusted leader at Hay Branch and across Killeen ISD. After retiring in 2010 with 33 years in education, she has continued to serve students and staff across Killeen ISD in interim roles. Last school year, she served Hay Branch full time as assistant principal, and this year she has been supporting the campus as a part-time campus instructional specialist.
Her experience, steady leadership, and deep understanding of the Hay Branch community will help ensure continuity for students, staff, and families. Our priority is a smooth transition and consistent leadership as we move forward.
Ms. Carlisle will continue working alongside the Hay Branch leadership team to support students and staff, and we will keep you informed as we make plans for hiring a permanent principal.
