Knights,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
This year is a special one, as we proudly celebrate 25 years of excellence at Harker Heights High School. A quarter-century ago, this campus opened its doors with a vision of academic strength, student pride, and unwavering commitment to community. Today, we honor that legacy and continue building on it with the same pride, courage, and integrity that have defined our journey.
Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another great year, I want to personally thank you for being part of what makes Heights more than just a school, a proud element of our community. Over the last 25 years, our knights have attained significant College, Career, and Military Readiness rates, while forging a strong tradition and reputation of advanced academics, fine arts, and athletic achievements. From our nationally recognized counseling teams, campus-wide AVID program, to a Capturing Kids’ Hearts culture we proudly live each day, our commitment and relentless pursuit of student success reflects the fantastic community that supports it.
As we begin this new year, I encourage every student to get involved, every community member to stay connected, and every staff member to keep modeling the excellence we want our students to become.
To the Class of 2026, let's continue adding to the legacy of the Harker Heights Knights. Forging forward with Pride, Courage, and Integrity, for the next 25 years!

Killeen ISD Announces Rising Star Schools in Capturing Kids’ Hearts
A total of 28 Killeen ISD schools learned this week they are Rising Stars in the Capturing Kids’ Hearts program that fosters a relationship-driven culture in organizations like school districts.
The award is reserved for schools in the first year of implementing the CKH motivational program which KISD adopted a year ago, said Executive Director for Student Success Micah Wells.
Those Rising Star schools, he said, are on track to becoming National Showcase Schools, a CKH designation all of KISD’s campuses can achieve.
“Rising Star is a designation given to campuses that have fully embraced and implemented the CKH processes into their campus culture,” said Wells.
Staff, student and family surveys, along with campus visits from CKH strategists create the data that lead to the awards, he explained.
“I am very proud of our district and the individual campuses for the way they have embraced the CKH processes and incorporated them into their campus culture,” Wells said.
“You can see the impact that positive relationships have on our students’ success, and I am excited to celebrate the recognition of their hard work in this first year of CKH implementation.”
