We’re kicking off our Plastic Grocery Bag Collection Challenge on March 2nd, and it will run through April 3rd! 🗓️✨
We are collecting plastic grocery bags— so start saving those bags from your shopping trips and send them to school with your student. Every bag counts and helps us make a positive impact on our environment! 💚
Let’s see how many we can collect as a campus. Together, we can turn small efforts into BIG change! 🌍

Families with students already enrolled in the district can complete registration electronically via the Home Access Center.
Read more here: https://www.killeenisd.org/article/2698631

Both the application and payment must be received by February 27 to secure exam registration and avoid a late fee.
Application Linked Here: https://aptg.co/lBnmpB
For questions, email Advanced.Academics@killeenisd.org.

Families with students already enrolled in the district can complete registration electronically via the Home Access Center. This convenient platform allows parents and guardians to update student information, provide required documents, and finalize enrollment for the upcoming school year. For current students not returning to the district in 2026-2027, families can notify the district of their plans through the registration form in the Home Access Center.
Students currently on a school transfer who wish to renew their transfer request must do so during the registration period. Failing to renew a transfer request during this timeframe could result in the loss of the transfer approval.
Required Documentation: All students are required to provide proof of residency, shot record, birth certificate and parent ID to complete the registration process. Proof of residency documentation must be related to a permanent residence such as a recent utility bill, military housing order, homeowner insurance policy or mortgage statement.
If families need assistance with registration, they are encouraged to contact their student’s school directly.
The registration process for new-to-the-district students will begin in late spring.

KISD supports student expression that is safe, respectful, and does not interrupt instruction. Families may wish to discuss alternatives to walkouts with their student, such as: passive expression (wearing a specific color of clothing, wristband, or button, as permitted by the Killeen ISD dress code), writing a letter or email to an elected official such as a member of Congress, or participating in discussions or community events outside of school hours.
The Texas Education Agency issued guidance to school districts on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, reinforcing that districts must protect instruction during the school day and follow state law and attendance requirements. Killeen ISD will follow this guidance.
In Killeen ISD, the focus remains on student safety and keeping students engaged in learning.
As a reminder, secondary campuses in Killeen ISD are closed campuses. Students may not leave campus during the school day without being signed out by a parent/guardian through the front office.
Any student who participates in a walkout will be marked absent and receive discipline consequences under attendance and truancy policies, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Under Killeen ISD policy FNCI(Legal), disruptive activity on school property include actions such as obstructing entrances, exits, or hallways or interfering with school operations. Student behavior that meets this definition will result in disciplinary consequences, including up to a Class B misdemeanor under the Texas Education Code § 37.123.
Killeen ISD respects student free speech and want students to be heard in ways that are safe, respectful, and appropriate during the school day. KISD thanks families for their partnership in keeping campuses safe and focused on learning.
A message was sent directly to parents/guardians of middle and high school students.
