Last week our 1st grade students were treated to a Dominos Dough Show! The students learned a little about what goes into dough, including yeast, watched the Pizza masters toss pizza dough and then had the chance to toss it themselves! It was a lot of fun! A huge thank you to the Dominos stores in Killeen, Harker Heights and Temple!

Dress like one of the 12 days of Christmas tomorrow!

Our kindergarten students got to participate in a virtual author visit with Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater- the author and illustrator of The Snow Thief in the library today! They heard how Ms. Hemming got the idea for her story and character. She then read them her story. The kids also had a chance to draw along with Ms. Slater!

Our student news crew, KYOT recently traveled to the KWTX studio to see how a real TV news show is produced. These students work each morning to put on their own news show as they put on our morning announcements each day! They give us the weather, the lunch menu, and anything important that we need to know about the day! What an amazing opportunity for these kids! A huge thank you to KWTX for welcoming our Coyotes!
Killeen HS librarian Ms. Cockrell and our very own librarian Mrs. Polm teamed up to host for some of our third grade classes. They focused on ELAR TEKS, including author’s purpose, story elements and figurative language. The kids had a great time and loved it so much they are already asking for another! The librarians are excited to host the rest of third grade when we come back from Christmas break!
