Roundup: Lady Knights Soccer Team Claims Bi-District Title

Already riding a wave that took them into the postseason for the first time since 2021-2022, the Harker Heights Lady Knights stayed afloat last Thursday in the first round of the Class 6A Division II soccer playoffs.
Goals from Kaylee Humble, Brooklynn Yahnel and Isabella Fujikawa were plenty padding for a stout defensive effort in front of goalkeeper Yumari Hernandez, and the Lady Knights outlasted Cedar Hill, 3-0, last Thursday night in Robinson to earn the bi-district championship.
It was the first playoff win for the Harker Heights girls soccer team (13-5-2) since 2004 and sent them into an area-round match against Forney (20-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Mexia High School.
Humble’s tally boosted her season total to a team-high 18 goals. Hernandez now has 12 shutouts on the year.
The winner Tuesday faces The Woodlands College Park or Tomball in the regional semifinals.
