The Fine Arts disciplines of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts offer unique experiences and empower students to explore realities, relationships, and ideas. Study of the arts develops cognitive functioning, and increases student academic achievement, higher order thinking, communication, and collaboration. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, Fine Arts, 2013.
Our Mission: The Killeen Independent School District Fine Arts Department shall empower all students with the knowledge and skills essential to engage learning though meaningful artistic experiences. We aim to produce well-rounded, dynamic students who can express themselves creatively and seek life-long enjoyment and fulfillment through the arts.
