A combined 61 goals and 17 shutouts are what six Killeen ISD soccer players produced this season, and all of them received All-District 12-6A superlative recognition.
Harker Heights’ Kaylee Humble was voted the district’s co-Most valuable player and teammate Yumari Hernandez earned goalkeeper of the year, and on the boys side, Shoemaker’s Joshua Torres and Sebastian Martinez were the offensive and midfield players of the year, respectively, while Harker Heights’ Mekhi Carwise took home co-utility player of the year and Sean Smith co-goalkeeper of the year.
Humble tallied a team-high 18 goals for the Lady Knights, who qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2021-2022 then claimed the program’s first playoff victory since 2004 with a 3-0 Class 6A Division II bi-district nod over Cedar Hill.
Standing firm –– or diving left and right –– in net during that journey was Hernandez, who pocketed 12 shutouts en route to her all-district honor.
Torres posted 17 goals and eight assists and Martinez netted 12 goals to go with seven assists for the Grey Wolves, who advanced to the postseason for a second straight year.
Carwise (14 goals) and Smith (five shutouts) helped the Knights return to the postseason for the first time in five years.
Additionally, the Killeen Lady Roos were presented the Fair Play team award.
