Philosophy of Education: My teaching philosophy is based on student-centered learning intended to deliver instruction in a manner that makes learning, the thing students want to do rather than the thing, they have to do. Instruction must be engaging and create an environment that encourages a love of learning that goes beyond academia. I am a proponent of active learning, which enables students to collaborate tying in real-world experiences and challenges to their learning. This style of educating goes beyond the classroom and fosters personal growth and development providing opportunities for students to develop social-emotional skills and resilience. Ultimately these practices are instrumental in developing good citizens that positively contribute to their communities and societies.
