Ms. Endia Brathwaite
Ms. Brathwaite was born and raised on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands of the United States. In 2002, she relocated to Fort Hood, Texas to begin her educational journey. She enrolled at Central Texas College where she earned an Associates of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies.
In 2009, Ms. Brathwaite joined the KISD family as a qualified educational aide at C.E. Ellison High School. She enjoyed the cultural diversity, the positive impact she has had on students over the years and the impact they have had on her. In 2011, she attended Texas A & M University Central Texas and received her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies.
Ms. Brathwaite began her teaching career with Smithville ISD. She taught RLA modified classes, Journalism and sponsored Smithville’s Varsity basketball team. She was challenged to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient; however, her love remained with KISD.
In 2014, she returned to the district and has facilitated at Shoemaker High School for the past eight years. She was recognized as AVID Teacher of the Month and Greywolf Teacher of the Week. Ms. Brathwaite has sponsored Shoemaker’s Maka Psi Phi Step Team (alongside Mrs. Drake), SHS Anime Club and SHS K-Pop club.
Ms. Brathwaite is dedicated to being a lifelong learner. She received her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Ashford University in 2019 and aspires to pursue doctoral studies in the near future. She believes that all students can learn and is ready to embark on her new leadership role.
