Ms. Kernisha Hill
Ms. Kernisha Hill is originally from Arkansas but moved to the Killeen area during her elementary years as her dad was stationed at Fort Hood, where she attended Clear Creek Elementary, Smith Middle School (on Ft. Hood) and graduated from Ellison High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University -Central Texas and began her teaching career at Palo Alto Middle School in the fall of 2006. She received her master’s degree in Education along with her principal’s certification in Education Administration from Texas A&M – Central Texas.
While at Palo Alto Middle School for seven years, Ms. Hill taught English Language Arts & Reading, she was the English Language Arts Lead Teacher, Newspaper and Yearbook sponsor, and the dance team sponsor. In the fall of 2013, she became an assistant principal/curriculum instructional specialist at Smith Middle School for two years. In the fall of 2015, she became an assistant principal at Harker Heights High School. During her time at Harker Heights High School, she was also the campus Testing Coordinator and Curriculum Director.
Ms. Hill is the proud parent of her wonderful daughter, Shamaya who is a graduate of Texas State University where she was a member of the Texas Strutters Dance Team. Ms. Hill also has one pup, a Chorkie named Maksimillian. Ms. Hill is honored and excited to serve as the principal of the best middle school in Killeen ISD.
