    Beginning Percussion
    Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of music and playing techniques for percussion instruments. The students begin on bells and progress to the other percussion instruments such as the snare drum and beyond throughout the year.

    Beginning Brass
    Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of music and playing techniques for brass instruments, which include trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba.

    Beginning Woodwinds
    Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of music and playing techniques for woodwind instruments, which include flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone.

    Wind Symphony
    Students will be given opportunities to continue the development of their musicianship and playing technique through performance in an advanced instrumental ensemble. Participation in sectional rehearsals, concerts, football games, pep rallies, and UIL contests is required for members in this organization.

Notes

    1. Band students are required to provide their own instruments, which may be purchased or leased from area music dealers. Certain large and/or expensive instruments are provided by the school district, but students must provide their own mouthpieces and/or reeds.
    2. Advanced band students may be required to purchase a uniform. Specific uniform information will be provided by each campus.
    3. Information about rules, regulations, and approximate prices will be provided by the band director.
    4. In order to participate in extracurricular activities in the band, strings and choir programs, students must meet the eligibility requirements established by the State of Texas.
