Mrs. Deirdre Pickettay

Mrs. Deirdre Pickettay began her career in education during the spring of 2006 as a 6^th- grade English teacher at Palo Alto Middle School.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Christian University.  After teaching various subjects to 7^th , 8^th, 5^th and Kindergarten students, she began to shift her passions towards educating students through the school counselor capacity.  And she pursued a master’s degree in professional school counseling from Angelo State University.  The 2023- 2024 school year will be her first year as a school counselor. 

Mrs. Pickettay is also a mother to four boys.  The oldest three are in high school while the youngest is in elementary school.  She is also a fur mother.  Mrs. Pickettay has two dogs, a Lab and a Yorkie, and one tuxedo black cat.  She and her husband enjoy traveling and watching crime and comedy movies together.  She loves to swim, sing, and read. 

She looks forward to helping students realize their potential.
