Dean of Instruction - Mr. Hess

Howdy Grizzlies!  My name is Benjamin Hess and I am the Dean of Instruction for Union Grove Middle School.  I am very excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year.  This is going to be another outstanding year for our Grizzly family and I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you this year.

 

I am a Killeen area native, having grown up and attended schools in the area. After graduation from college, I decided to return home and give back to the community that was so great to me.  This is my 15th year with Killeen ISD, and my 7th year at Union Grove.  During my time as an educator I have been afforded the opportunity to work as a Classroom Teacher, Baseball Coach, AVID Coordinator, and Assistant Principal.  I am a firm believer in hard work and seeing that hard work pay off in the form of lifelong learning and success.

 

I am also a believer in the importance of strong relationships with all stakeholders in the educational process.  Our students, parents, teachers, administrative support staff, and community benefactors are the reason why Union Grove has a storied success of excellence, and I look forward to forging strong relationships with the entire Grizzly extended family.  Let’s have another great year, Grizzlies!
