Mrs. Heather Hernandez

Mrs. Hernandez is a native of the Killeen/Ft. Hood area, who began her time in Killeen ISD as a student at Reeces Creek Elementary, Nolan Middle and is a graduate of Ellison High School. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and then Texas A&M – Commerce with a Masters in Educational Leadership. 

 

Mrs. Hernandez is starting her 16th year in education. She began her career in Killeen ISD as a middle school band director and then transitioned to teaching Special Education Inclusion before joining administration last year as a Campus Facilitator for Special Programs at Chaparral High School. 

 

Mrs. Hernandez believes that all students are capable of growth and high individual achievement! She also believes that clear communication is the key to successful leadership, and to building relationships between teachers and students. She also views parents and the community as essential stakeholders in student growth and development!

 

When not working with our amazing students and staff at ECHS, Mrs. Hernandez enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also an educator in Killeen ISD, and five children. Mrs. Hernandez loves to travel, read, and knit!
