KISD Well-Represented in College Conference Title Games

Four Killeen ISD graduates take the gridiron this weekend with their college football teams in conference championship games.
 
On Friday night, Trent Hudson (Shoemaker) and the New Mexico State Aggies (10-3) take on No. 24 Liberty (12-0) in the Conference USA title tilt. Hudson, a junior wide receiver, has 28 catches, 439 yards, eight touchdowns this season.
 
Hudson began his collegiate career at Trinity Valley Junior College after his time at Shoemaker where he lettered in three sports.
 
The Aggies and Flames are scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. at Williams Stadium in Virginia on CBS Sports Network.
 
terrel picture on fieldAbout an hour later, Khamari Terrell, another former Grey Wolves standout, will take the field with No. 5 Oregon (11-1), which battles No. 3 Washington (12-0) in the Pac-12 championship bout.
 
Terrell, a sophomore defensive back, has appeared in 18 games during his time with the Ducks, including eight this season. While at Shoemaker, Terrell was a four-star recruit who played offense, defense and special teams, then shifted his versatility to the track in the spring.
 
That game is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on ABC.
 
chat clipOn Saturday, Jaydon Chatman, an offensive lineman and Harker Heights alum, will don his burnt orange as the No. 7 Texas Longhorns (11-1) face off against No. 18 Oklahoma State (9-3) for the Big 12 crown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
 
Chatman, who was a two-time first-team all-district pick with the Knights and was part of their historic run to the Class 6A Region II final in 2022, has appeared in one game so far this season.
 
Kickoff for the Longhorns and Cowboys is 11 a.m.
 
At 3 p.m. on ESPN2, former Ellison Eagles speedster Tre’jon Spiller and the Prairie View A&M Panthers (6-5) has a chance to claim the SWAC championship when they tangle with Florida A&M (10-1) at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
 
Spiller, a junior wide receiver, has 22 catches, 369 yards, five TDs this season. While at Ellison, Spiller also exceled in track and field, winning the Class 6A Region II long jump as a senior in 2021 to qualify for state.
