In addition to being an active member of Killeen’s First United Methodist Church and serving as one of its trustees, Marvin teaches an adult Bible study group and works with a military spouse support group during deployments. Rainwater also serves as vice-chairman of the Greater Central Texas Federal Credit Union Board.
Numerous organizations have acknowledged Marvin’s dedication to education and his tireless efforts to help students successfully reach their potentials. He has received the Incredible Kid Celebration Award, the Friend of NAACP Award, the Camp Fire USSA Award, and the Mirabeau B. Lamar Medal from the Masonic Lodge of Texas.
Marvin and his wife Jan are the parents of two children, both of whom graduated from Killeen’s public schools. Hoby is a KISD high school teacher/varsity football/baseball coach. Faith is a Killeen elementary teacher and middle school dance instructor.
Grateful to have been elected to represent Killeen ISD’s students, its employees, and other citizens of the district, Rainwater is excited to begin serving his first three year term on the board of trustees.
