School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)
-
We welcome you to the Killeen ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) webpage. The purpose of this webpage is to invite more parents to become involved in our SHAC activities throughout the year. Our goal is to reduce the number of overweight and obese children within our district so they may have healthy lifestyles for the future.
A School Health Advisory Council is a district-created advisory group consisting of members from different areas of the community and school district. The job of the SHAC is to make sure that the school district's health programs reflect local community values.
We have 5 meetings during the year. The dates are announced below. Also, we invite you to participate in our annual Killeen ISD Family Fitness and Wellness Fair. This event is held in April on the last Saturday of the month.
If you have any questions or wish to participate in our meetings or Wellness Fair please send an e-mail to SHAC@killeenisd.org or contact (254) 336-1707. With your help, we will combat childhood obesity and provide our youth with healthy lifestyles.
School Health Advisory Council meetings are from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM and are held at the Jackson Professional Learning Center, 902 Rev. RA Abercrombie Drive Killeen, Texas 76543.
