Dr. Jo Ann Fey

Dr. Jo Ann Fey joined Killeen ISD as Superintendent of Schools in July 2023. Her entire career as a teacher, coach, principal and administrator has focused on student connections and student success. Whether the future is a traditional university, a trade school, the workforce or the military, Dr. Fey’s passion is to ensure that every student that leaves KISD is prepared to succeed.

Dr. Fey values the need for a well-rounded education and understands the importance of finding academic, co-curricular and extracurricular balance in a student’s life. 

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University, where she was a five-time All American athlete. She also earned a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Baptist University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Prior to KISD, Dr. Fey served as superintendent of Midlothian ISD, and spent 26 years serving the students of Southwest ISD near San Antonio.

Dr. Fey’s husband is a civil engineer, and they have three children. Their son is currently teaching in Southwest ISD. Their oldest daughter, who was her high school’s class valedictorian and a state champion in track and field, is a student athlete at Rice University. Their youngest daughter is a senior at Chaparral High School and is currently a two-time defending state champion in track and field.
