Hello Bobcats!

My name is Theresa Lau and I am excited to join Chaparral High School as a Counselor! I look forward to the school year to support students, teachers, staff, parents, and our community. I will be responsible for students with the last names Ch-Gl but will assist with anyone. My intentions are to assist and empower others to the best of my abilities.

I began my educational journey as a substitute teacher. I have taught at Peebles Elementary and Reeces Creek Elementary. Prior to teaching, I was in the Army as a Transportation Management Coordinator. I received my bachelor’s in child and Family Development through American Military University. I completed my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with Texas A&M University-Central Texas. Currently, I am completing another master’s in clinical Mental Health at TAMUCT.

I have 4 amazing children, ages 18, 16, 12, and 4. We also have 2 dogs. I love to travel and try new foods, but you can always find me at Target.
