Mrs. Khalana Carlton is joining Chaparral High School with nearly 20 years of dedicated service in education. In her most recent role, she served as Project Manager at ESC Region 13 where she created, maintained, and expanded educational partnerships between institutions of higher learning and local schools in the Austin, Texas area. She focused directly on enhancing upward mobility through apprenticeships and student residencies.

During her time with Copperas Cove ISD, Mrs. Carlton collaborated closely with the executive and administrative teams to streamline instructional practices in Professional Learning Communities while also supporting Strategic Staffing and Employee Relations. She is deeply committed to supporting both staff and students, and guided by a strong belief in the principles of servant leadership.

Believing that education is the cornerstone of success, Mrs. Carlton is committed to fostering a culture of lifelong learning with the support of her spouse, Pennington. Mrs. Carlton exemplifies this commitment daily when empowering their three children. Also, as a proud parent of a recent Bobcat graduate, Mrs. Carlton looks forward to connecting with and serving the families of CHS.

Mrs. Carlton is also a certified superintendent and is currently seeking her doctorate in School Improvement from Texas State University. Her commitment to education and leadership is a testament to her enduring dedication to the field.
